Soriano is now the first American League pitcher in MLB history to throw at least six innings with three or less hits and one or fewer runs allowed in his first four starts, via Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

On the year, Soriano is now sporting a 0.33 ERA and a 31/9 K/BB ratio. He has allowed nine hits and one run over his 27 innings pitched.

The right-hander had shown flashes of brilliance throughout his now four-year run with the Angels. But in 2025, Soriano put up a 4.26 ERA and a 152/78 K/BB ratio. His historic turnaround has been a massive boon for the Angels, as they’ve won all four of their starts. Furthermore, only 27-years-old and under team control through 2028, Soriano could be the leader of Los Angeles’ pitching rotation for the foreseeable future.

Of course, a four game sample size isn’t enough to declare Soriano a perennial Cy Young contender. However, his hot start would turn heads across the MLB world under any circumstance. But playing for the pitching desperate Angels, Soriano now provides part of the potential light at the end of the tunnel.

All eyes will be on the now Los Angeles ace next time he steps to the mound. The longer his historic streak goes, the harder it’ll be to ignore Soriano.

Part of the reason the Los Angeles Angels haven’t made the playoffs since 2014 is because they haven’t had enough quality pitching.
