CHICAGO (AP) \u2014 A singer leading the \u201cJackie Robinson Day\u201d festivities before the Chicago White Sox’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday night collapsed and was taken to a hospital.<\/p>\n
The White Sox said Gerald Chaney, a longtime anthem performer, was \u201cdoing well\u201d while continuing to be evaluated. He collapsed while performing \u201cLift Every Voice and Sing,” and the team said he was alert before leaving Rate Field.<\/p>\n
