The San Diego Padres mash three walk-offs in one week<\/p>\n

The Padres three walk-offs (all extra-base hits) in the span of a week are the most since the World Series winners, the Cincinnati Reds<\/a> in 1975 (June 27-30). Shortstop Xander Bogaerts hit a walk-off grand slam on April 9, outfielder Gavin Sheets hit a three-run home run on April 10, and center fielder Jackson Merrill hit a two-run double on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

During the seven-game winning streak, the Padres’ offense has scored 47 runs, while limiting the opposition to 21. Despite the winning streak, the Padres sit two games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> in the National League West.<\/p>\n

The offense ranks 16th in team batting average (.236) and 12th in runs scored (85). Looking to complete their second series sweep, the Padres will send right-hander Walker Buehler to the mound to secure the victory. Buehler is 0-1 with a 4.97 ERA in three starts for the Padres this season.<\/p>\n
