Numerous players are off to hot starts, while others are still working on timing and rhythm. The biggest stories are the players that come out of nowhere and have tremendous starts to their season. Entering the week, he\u2019s made three starts and has a WHIP below 0.60. If he can stay healthy, he can represent the American League in the All-Star game.<\/p>\n<p>2. Kevin Gausman, Toronto Blue Jays<\/p>\n<p>Gausman has been a nightmare for opposing batters. He\u2019s limited hitters to a batting average below .150. His strikeout rate is 1.5 per inning pitched.<\/p>\n<p>3. Jose Soriano, Los Angeles Angels<\/p>\n<p>Soriano is off to the best start of his career. Entering the week, he has four wins in four starts. He has a 0.67 WHIP and a .103 batting average against.<\/p>\n<p>4. Michael Wacha, Kansas City Royals<\/p>\n<p>Wacha has never had outstanding velocity, but the veteran knows how to pitch. He\u2019s leading Kansas City\u2019s starting rotation. Entering the week, he has a 0.43 ERA and 0.71 WHIP.<\/p>\n<p>5. Among MLB starting pitchers, he\u2019s tied for fifth in WHIP.<\/p>\n<p>6. Emerson Hancock, Seattle Mariners<\/p>\n<p>Hancock\u2019s great story has continued through three weeks. Entering the week, his WHIP is below 0.75. He\u2019s been an anchor at the backend of Seattle\u2019s rotation.<\/p>\n<p>7. Max Fried, New York Yankees<\/p>\n<p>Fried is the most underrated MLB starting pitcher. He knows how to get Major League hitters out. Entering the week, he leads Yankees starters in ERA and is second in WHIP.<\/p>\n<p>8. Jeffrey Springs, Athletics<\/p>\n<p>The veteran is off to a much better start compared to last season. He\u2019s given the Athletics a chance to win in each of his three starts. However, history has shown hitters to adjust against Springs by late June.<\/p>\n<p>9. Entering the week, he has not allowed a home run.<\/p>\n<p>10. Sandy Alcantara, Miami Marlins<\/p>\n<p>Alcantara struggled last season. It was his first season back from Tommy John surgery, and it usually takes a full season to regain pre-surgery form.
