They just swept the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" title=\"New York Mets\" href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/sports\/mlb\/new-york-mets\/\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"228104\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New York Mets<\/a> in a three-game series, are off on Thursday, and will hit the road for a three-game weekend series with the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" title=\"Colorado Rockies\" href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/sports\/mlb\/colorado-rockies\/\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"228109\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Colorado Rockies<\/a> on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Per <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JonHeyman\/status\/2044854181521940966?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">MLB insider Jon Heyman<\/a>, the Dodgers have acquired right-handed pitcher <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" title=\"Chayce McDermott\" href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/mlb\/player\/chayce-mcdermott\/\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"228111\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chayce McDermott<\/a> from the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" title=\"Baltimore Orioles\" href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/sports\/mlb\/baltimore-orioles\/\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"228118\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Baltimore Orioles<\/a>. He has a career 4.38 ERA in the minors with 568 strikeouts. Acquired RHP Chayce McDermott from the Orioles in exchange for RHP Axel Perez. McDermott goes to Triple-A OKC<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/noahcamras\/status\/2044858470479089903?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">@noahcamras:<\/a> The Dodgers have made a trade, acquiring RHP Chayce McDermott from the Orioles for RHP Axel Perez. McDermott was the Orioles\u2019 top pitching prospect a year ago. He has a high strikeout rate and swing-and-miss stuff. He\u2019s struggled in limited MLB action and was DFA\u2019d last week.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, McDermott pitched just 8.2 innings with the Orioles, and he gave up 15 earned runs and three home runs in that sample size.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/jcalvinmeyer\/status\/2044857820017745948?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">@jcalvinmeyer:<\/a>The Orioles are getting back right-handed pitcher Axel Perez, a 20-year-old who spent last season in rookie ball, Baltimore announced. A year ago, Chayce McDermott was the Orioles\u2019 No. 1 pitching prospect.
