Boston<\/a> \u2013 With Zach McKinstry being placed on the 10-day injured list<\/a> (hip and abdomen inflammation) and Hao-Yu Lee being called up from Triple-A Toledo, the Tigers<\/a> moved to shore up the organization\u2019s utility depth.<\/p>\n

According to MLB transactions, they signed 29-year Luke Ritter, who had spent the last three seasons at Triple-A Syracuse in the Mets<\/a>‘ system.<\/p>\n

Who is Luke Ritter?<\/p>\n

Ritter hit 52 home runs in four Triple-A seasons (26 in 2024) and posted a .420 slugging percentage. He also carried a 30% strikeout rate.<\/p>\n

He has played third, second and first base, as well as corner outfield.<\/p>\n

He was released by the Angels this spring.<\/p>\n
