The Mets will look to break out of their funk in the second of a three-game set at Wrigley Field against the Cubs.<\/p>\n

Chicago will face a familiar face in Mets right-hander Freddy Peralta, who spent his entire big league<\/a> career with the National League Central rival Brewers before he was traded to Queens over the offseason.<\/p>\n

Peralta has made 22 appearances (17 starts) against the Cubs over the years, and he\u2019s pitched them about as well as he has any team in baseball.<\/p>\n

Against the Northsiders, he has posted a 3.21 ERA over 98 innings, which is his lowest ERA versus any opponent he has logged at least 40 innings against.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s been even better than that, facing some of the Cubs\u2019 current biggest bats.<\/p>\n

In 38 career plate appearances, Ian Happ is hitting just .063.<\/p>\n

Seiya Suzuki has struck out in more than half of his 23 at-bats versus Peralta.<\/p>\n

Nico Hoerner, Dansby Swanson, and Michael Busch are combining to hit .140 off Peralta in 64 combined career at-bats.<\/p>\n

At Wrigley Field, specifically, batters have hit just .186 off Peralta, showing he likes to pitch at the Friendly Confines.<\/p>\n

While he\u2019s had trouble keeping the ball in the yard (three home runs allowed)<\/a> and walks (3.4 walks per nine innings) thus far this season, Peralta has been his usual stingy self when it comes to giving up hits, holding batters to a .203 average.<\/p>\n

All evidence shows that it should continue on Saturday in Chicago.<\/p>\n
