He also featured a slider and changeup in the upper 90s. Like a lot of power arms, control has been an issue. Fern\u00e1ndez has walked 13.9% of the batters he has faced in the majors so far.\u201d<\/p>\n He spent the 2024 season in Japan, but has been mostly a minor-league pitcher.<\/p>\n He last pitched in MLB in 2022 with the Pittsburgh Pirates<\/a>. In 18.2 total innings with the Cardinals<\/a> and Pirates in 2022, Fernandez boasted a 2.41 ERA.<\/p>\n In 54 career innings, Junior Fernandez holds a career 5.17 ERA and 47 strikeouts.
