{"id":679080,"date":"2026-04-19T12:10:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-19T12:10:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/679080\/"},"modified":"2026-04-19T12:10:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-19T12:10:09","slug":"athletics-top-white-sox-in-11-innings-on-max-muncys-sacrifice-fly-athletics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/679080\/","title":{"rendered":"Athletics top White Sox in 11 innings on Max Muncy\u2019s sacrifice fly | Athletics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. \u2014 Max Muncy drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly in the 11th inning to lift the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/sports\/athletics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Athletics<\/a> to a 7-6 win over the Chicago White Sox on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Muncy\u2019s fly to left field scored Jacob Wilson, who began the inning as the automatic runner at second base and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Denzel Clarke.<\/p>\n<p>Jack Perkins (2-0) struck out three and gave up one hit in 2 1\/3 innings of scoreless relief.<\/p>\n<p>The Athletics plan to move to Las Vegas in 2028, when they are scheduled to open play at a new ballpark on the Strip.<\/p>\n<p>Chicago scored five runs in the second inning on Colson Montgomery\u2019s homer on the first pitch of the inning, Reese McGuire\u2019s RBI single and Andrew Benintendi\u2019s three-run shot.<\/p>\n<p>The Athletics answered with Wilson\u2019s second home run of the season in the bottom of the inning. Jeff McNeil added a sacrifice fly in the third and Tyler Soderstrom drove in a run with a single in the fifth.<\/p>\n<p>Munetaka Murakami extended Chicago\u2019s lead to 6-4 with a solo homer in the seventh. The Athletics drew even at 6-all in the bottom half of the inning when Nick Kurtz hit a two-run homer to right field with a 115.3 mph exit velocity.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas Sims (0-2) gave up the winning run.<\/p>\n<p>Chicago stranded 14 runners and went 3 for 17 with runners in scoring position. The White Sox also loaded the bases in the ninth but failed to score.<\/p>\n<p>Wilson finished with two hits and scored twice, while Kurtz had two hits, two RBIs and three walks.
