Homering off Baltimore Orioles<\/a> starter Trevor Rodgers in the fourth and fifth innings Saturday, Cleveland Guardians<\/a> third baseman joined an exclusive MLB fraternity.<\/p>\n

The two-homer performance increased the 14-year major leaguer’s career total to 291. Along with his 297 steals, Ramirez became the 11th member of the 290-290 club<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It seems like each time Rameriz steps on the field recently, he breaks another record.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Ramirez snapped a 112-year record for most at-bats in franchise history, breaking a mark held by the iconic Nap Lajoie. On April 6, he became the first player in the organization to homer against 29 other MLB teams.<\/p>\n

Guardians’ Jose Ramirez making marks on game<\/p>\n

The two home runs increased Ramirez’s organizational record of 28 career multi-home run games. His 138 homers at Progressive Field placed him in second place all-time, passing Earl Averill.<\/p>\n

“Those are things nobody does,” Paul Hoynes said on the Cleveland Baseball Talk podcast<\/a>. “You know, we’re lucky. We see one player like this in a lifetime. These guys just come along here.”<\/p>\n

Rameriz, who is hitting .342 with five homers in his past 11 games after a slow start, led the Guardians to an 8-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday. The AL Central-leading Guardians (13-10) open a three-game series against the visiting Houston Astros<\/a> on Monday.<\/p>\n

“He’s so durable, so consistent,” Hoynes said. “I mean, those records have stood for decades that he’s broken in the last two weeks.”<\/p>\n
