The Colorado Rockies were accused of cheating during a rivalry series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. They responded in the best possible way.<\/p>\n
Batters celebrated big hits by pretending to cast a fishing line. It was a way of trolling catcher Dalton Rushing.<\/p>\n
The Rockies<\/a> entered the four-game set as one of baseball\u2019s worst teams. They were 7-12 when taking on the division leading Dodgers<\/a>.<\/p>\n That did not stop them from taking two of the first three games.<\/p>\n After a Game 2 win, Rushing called their approach at the plate \u201cfishy.\u201d They seemed to know what was coming during each at-bat.<\/p>\n Did the Colorado Rockies cheat?<\/p>\n Dalton Rushing said it was \u2018a little fishy\u2019 how the #Rockies<\/a> hitters were swinging at the first pitch and connecting. So, it\u2019s a little fishy.\u201d<\/p>\n Colorado won Game 2, 4-3. They swung at 12 first pitches, the same number they\u2019d posted the night prior.<\/p>\n It\u2019s a theme with this year\u2019s lineup. It\u2019s actually something that\u2019s been seen league wide. The Rockies happen to lead the MLB in first pitch swing rate<\/a> at a touch over 38%.<\/p>\n Rushing\u2019s comments alluded to possible sign stealing. It did not change the Rockies\u2019 approach. Colorado again jumped on the first pitch in Game 3.<\/p>\n Colorado had the perfect response.<\/p>\n The Rockies would pick up a second straight win in the series, beating the Dodgers 9-6 on Sunday. After each big hit, players celebrated by imitating casting a fishing line.<\/p>\n The social media team knew the assignment.<\/p>\n The Rockies had fun with Rushing\u2019s accusation. They played into the cheating claims in the best possible way.<\/p>\n They responded with a division win. Colorado will now look to win the series on Monday.<\/p>\n \t\t\t
