Boston starter Sonny Gray left the game in the third  inning with right hamstring tightness.<\/p>\n<p>Cubs 5, Phillies 1 \u2013 Rea and Swanson help the Cubs  beat the slumping Phillies 5-1 for their 6th straight win<br \/>Colin Rea pitched into the seventh inning and the  Chicago Cubs beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-1 for their sixth consecutive  win. Dansby Swanson hit a three-run homer for Chicago, and Michael Conforto  added a sacrifice fly. The Cubs have outscored their opponents 44-14 during the  team\u2019s longest win streak since it also won six in a row from Aug. 26 to Sept.  1, 2024. They are tied with Atlanta for the majors\u2019 longest active win streak.  The Phillies have dropped six in a row and seven of eight. From Sept. 1 through the end of the season, the roster limits increase to 14  pitchers and 28 active players. But Ohtani is designated as a two-way player,  which means he doesn\u2019t count as a pitcher. So the reigning World Series  champions have a total of 14 pitchers on their active roster. Until now. Victor Wembanyama was announced Monday night as the  league\u2019s top defensive player. The San Antonio center was second in the voting  for DPOY as a rookie. Wembanyama was the favorite last season until a medical  condition ended his season prematurely, then left no doubt this year. At 22,  the native of France is the youngest winner of the award. Oklahoma City\u2019s Chet  Holmgren was second and Detroit\u2019s Ausar Thompson was third.<\/p>\n<p>NBA \u2013 Green  predicts Kerr won\u2019t be back. The Warriors can\u2019t imagine life without him<br \/>Draymond Green doesn\u2019t expect Steve Kerr to return as  coach of the Golden State Warriors. Green said on his podcast Monday that he  hopes Kerr returns but \u201cit felt like that was it\u201d after Golden State lost at  Phoenix in a play-in tournament game. Green added that he doesn\u2019t even know if  he\u2019ll be playing for the Warriors next season. Kerr just completed a two-year  contract worth $35 million. The 60-year-old has won four championships during  his 12 seasons leading the Warriors. Hawaii will be without a tour  event in 2027<br \/>The PGA Tour is bidding aloha to Hawaii on its  schedule. The Sentry at Kapalua was canceled last January because of a water  dispute that kept the Plantation course from being ready in time.  Wisconsin-based Sentry has a sponsorship deal through 2035 and will be going  elsewhere. One likely landing spot is Torrey Pines in San Diego. The PGA Tour  has also confirmed the Sony Open in Honolulu also won\u2019t be on the 2027  schedule. It\u2019s part of a revamped schedule that\u2019s slowly changing. The tour is  talking to the Sony Open about being a PGA Tour Champions event next year.<\/p>\n<p>NFL \u2013 Steelers are still waiting to hear from Rodgers  about returning for a 22nd season<br \/>The Pittsburgh Steelers are still waiting for Aaron  Rodgers to decide whether he wants to return for a 22nd season. Steelers  general manager Omar Khan says the club remains in frequent communication with  the four-time MVP, who led Pittsburgh to an AFC North title last season.  Rodgers\u2019 status is unlikely to play a significant role in the club\u2019s strategy  when the NFL draft descends on the Steel City this week. The Steelers will head  into the draft with 12 picks, including the 21st overall selection in the first  round.<\/p>\n<p>NFL \u2013 Bears QB Caleb Williams hoping to maintain  momentum despite changes<br \/>Quarterback Caleb Williams feels prepared for a second  year under Ben Johnson\u2019s coaching with the Chicago Bears. The team won the NFC  North last year for the first time since 2018, but Williams says there\u2019s more  work to do. He\u2019s excited to return for offseason conditioning and to see new  and familiar faces. Some changes include the retirement of center Drew Dalman  and the trade of wide receiver DJ Moore.
