From Mirjam Swanson<\/a>: The Dodgers<\/a> announced Monday that Edwin D\u00edaz<\/a> will undergo surgery to remove \u201cloose bodies\u201d in his right elbow and the closer isn\u2019t expected to return until some point in the second half of the season.<\/p>\n D\u00edaz, 32, has a 10.50 ERA in seven appearances this season for the Dodgers, who made a splash signing the high-profile free agent to a three-year $69-million deal, a record for a reliever.<\/p>\n The Dodgers recalled 27-year-old left-handed long reliever Jake Eder<\/a> to replace D\u00edaz on the roster.<\/p>\n \u201cObviously, we all saw the stuff [Sunday], and it sent up red flags,\u201d Roberts said. \u201cAnd so, after the game, he had a conversation with our training staff, and felt that he had some elbow discomfort.
