According to AccuWeather, at Oracle Park there are expected to be some showers<\/a> ahead of the game but things are supposed to clear up around 5 PM. Obviously, there could be fear that the field might be too soggy or wet to play on if there’s been a lot of rain but hopefully if they have the tarp out that should keep the field playable enough. As beautiful as that moment with Marco Scutaro in the rain<\/a> was back in 2012, those weren’t exactly playable conditions so let’s hope that sort of downpour stays far away.<\/p>\n Obviously, we will have to see how the weather progresses throughout the day but this article will be updated if we get word on any delays or rescheduling should the game be postponed.<\/p>\n SF Giants series opener versus Dodgers threatened by rain<\/p>\n Rainouts are exceedingly rare at Oracle Park<\/a> and this sort of weather is odd for April. Rainouts are typically more of a thing in the Midwest or on the east coast<\/a> this time of year as the weather is still making up its mind on whether it wants to be spring or not.<\/p>\n Thankfully, the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday looks better so the hope is that rain would only impact Tuesday’s game if it impacts any of them.<\/p>\n If the weather does hold up and the game goes ahead as planned, it should be a pretty good pitching matchup. Landen Roupp, who has been San Francisco’s best starter so far this season<\/a>, will take the ball and go against Yoshinobu Yamamoto for the Dodgers.<\/p>\n The biggest question may be whether the Giants can do anything on offense. They looked good at times on their road trip, but going against a great pitcher like Yamamoto is a big challenge.<\/p>\n This is a big series for the Giants as they look to get back on track. If they can win the series that could give them the confidence boost they need going forward to try to remain competitive in a tough NL West<\/a>. But if they lose the series or get swept, then the questions already swirling about this team<\/a> will grow even louder.<\/p>\n
