One of the funniest things that happens in sports is when a team feels slighted by a former player. Naturally, there’s a lot of that when taking a look at the Los Angeles Dodgers roster. New York Mets fans can’t wait to trash Edwin D\u00edaz<\/a>, and the same is true for Chicago Cubs fans and Kyle Tucker. If you look closely enough, you can also see the petty leak out from the respective teams. <\/p>\n

What started it all was Shohei Ohtani’s decision to leave the Los Angeles Angels<\/a> in favor of the Los Angeles Dodgers. While the two teams have had very different track records over the past decade, it’s very clear that Angels owner Arte Moreno doesn’t prefer doing business with the Dodgers. Just look at the failed Andy Pages’ trade (Thanks, Arte<\/a>). <\/p>\n

The latest insinuation happened earlier this week when the Angels posted a clip honoring the 60th anniversary of Angel Stadium. There’s certainly no shortage of memorable baseball occurrences to take place at Angel Stadium, but one of the biggest is the arrival of Shohei Ohtani. <\/p>\n

It would seem like a layup to assume that Ohtani, at the very least, his debut, would be featured in the video. Instead, there wasn’t any mention<\/a> of the player who brought recent relevance to the Angels’ franchise, even though they haven’t had a winning season since 2015. <\/p>\n

That’s truly an all-time level of petty. On one hand, you have to hand it to the Angels. Sure, they are surprisingly staying afloat through the early weeks of the 2026 season, but usually, when they are making headlines, it’s for the wrong reasons. Given that reality, it’s fair to assume there will be an instance or two when they want to get messy. Nothing is wrong with an occasional stirring of the pot, and credit to the Angels for embracing it. <\/p>\n

It’s even funnier to wonder if there was an original cut that had Ohtani included in the montage, and Moreno nixed it because why bring more attention to the team’s inability to keep the game’s best player.<\/p>\n

This is the way of life for the Dodgers. Whether it’s trolls or other teams being petty, the Dodgers are the easy target and likely will be for the foreseeable future. At the end of the day, if each season ends with LA raising another banner, keep aiming high, trolls. <\/p>\n
