The team is teaming up with Hallmark Cards for a massive private investment partnership project, that will include a new ballpark at Crown Center.<\/p>\n<p>Hallmark and the Royals <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/royals\/news\/royals-hallmark-cards-unveil-landmark-plan-to-bring-major-league-baseball-downtown?t=royals-press-releases\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">agreed to a plan<\/a> that will bring about $2 billion in private investment, the team said in a release. It is the largest private investment in the city&#8217;s history.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur founder Ewing Kauffman wanted the Royals to be Kansas City\u2019s forever, and he wanted the team to benefit his hometown as much as possible,\u201d Royals CEO and Chairman John Sherman said. \u201cJoining Hallmark with this project achieves both and extends the Hall family\u2019s critical legacy of helping Kansas City grow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new ballpark will be located in the downtown area of Kansas City. It also ensures that the Royals will remain in that city for years to come.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the new Royals stadium opens at Crown Center, something proud will come full circle,\u201d Hallmark Cards Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors Don Hall Jr. said. \u201cThe iconic Royals crown that Hallmark created will return to the very neighborhood where it was conceived. Every time a fan walks through the stadium doors, they\u2019ll be standing in a place shaped by Kansas City and Hallmark\u2019s creative spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Royals fans have to be relieved to hear this. Another American League ball club, the <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/mlb\/athletics\/athletics-news-john-fisher-provides-big-update-on-las-vegas-stadium-timeline\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Athletics, recently left Oakland after the team&#8217;s ownership couldn&#8217;t get a deal done<\/a> with that city on a new stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Royals have support to stay in Kansas City for years<\/p>\n<p>There could be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kansascity.com\/sports\/mlb\/kansas-city-royals\/article315488026.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">another funding source<\/a> for the Royals as well if more money is needed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Royals and city officials are also poised to access a sweeping funding package Missouri lawmakers approved last summer in an attempt to keep both the Royals and Kansas City Chiefs inside state lines. The law allows Missouri to pay for up to 50 (percent) of a new stadium for the team, but it\u2019s unclear how much money the state will actually contribute,\u201d The Kansas City Star reported.<\/p>\n<p>This season, the <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/mlb\/kansas-city-royals\/royals-news-bobby-witt-jr-honest-booed-orioles-loss\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Royals have a 8-16 overall record<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Kansas City Royals will someday have a new stadium.
