Coby Mayo played a significant role in the win, as he crushed a big three-run home run 452 feet. While he may not have predicted the distance, Mayo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/video\/coby-mayo-on-his-three-run-homer-and-more?q=interview&amp;cp=CMS_FIRST&amp;qt=FREETEXT&amp;p=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">did predict<\/a> he would hit a home run before the game, according to the reporter who interviewed him postgame, via MLB.com.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou told me earlier today, \u2018I&#8217;ll just go hit another home run,&#8217;\u201d the reporter said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust try to stay on something to the big part of the field,\u201d Mayo said of the home run. \u201cFirst pitch was a good one to hit and I didn&#8217;t swing. Felt like the second one was a good one to go on. Happy I took a good swing. Yeah, just a good feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/mlb\/baltimore-orioles\/orioles-news-samuel-basallo-defiant-guarantee-clutch-heroics-inflict-more-pain-royals\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Orioles are beginning to play a better brand of baseball<\/a> overall. They are now 12-13 overall after earning a 2-1 series win over the Royals. <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/mlb\/baltimore-orioles\/orioles-news-baltimore-makes-adley-rutschman-injury-move\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Adley Rutschman also recently returned from injury<\/a> which will help matters. Baltimore still has work to do as they are third in the American League East, but the ball club is hoping to build off the momentum of this series.<\/p>\n<p>Mayo, 24, has struggled for the most part this season. He is now hitting .164\/.261\/.295 across 20 games played. His long ball on Wednesday represented his second home run of the season. Perhaps he is finding his rhythm.
