MERION STATION, Pa. \u2013 The Saint Joseph’s baseball team fell to Delaware, 15-6, at Smithson Field on Wednesday afternoon.
\n\u00a0
\nHOW IT HAPPENED
\n\u2022 Delaware (12-29) scored twice in the second and once in the fourth to take a 3-0 lead.
\n\u00a0
\n\u2022 Saint Joseph’s (26-14) got one back in the bottom of the fourth after a Joey Pagano<\/a> double led to a sacrifice fly by Tim Dickinson<\/a>.
\n\u00a0
\n\u2022 Unfortunately for the Crimson and Gray, four hits, two errors, three walks, and a hit batter conspired to push seven runs across for the Blue Hens in the top of the fifth.
\n\u00a0
\n\u2022\u00a0The teams traded singletons in the sixth; after Delaware scored one in the top of the frame, Pagano doubled once again and came around to score on an RBI single by Jack Saker<\/a>.
\n\u00a0
\n\u2022\u00a0Delaware scored four more in the top of the ninth, but the Hawks collected four runs of their own in the bottom of the inning.\u00a0 Pagano drew a two-out bases-loaded walk, Jason Janesko<\/a> reached on a fielding error that brought a run home, and Dickinson then walked in a run; a wild pitch scored Pagano with the final tally of the game.

\nBEHIND THE BOX SCORE
\n\u2022\u00a0Matt Reyes earned the win, tossing four innings and allowing one run in relief for the Blue Hens.\u00a0 Micah Wells<\/a> allowed six runs, three of them unearned, on five hits while striking out three in four and a third innings to take the loss.
\n\u00a0
\n\u2022 Kelsey had three hits on Wednesday, while Pagano and Janesko added a pair apiece.\u00a0 Pagano also scored three times, while Dickinson drove in a pair.

\nThe Hawks head across town to rekindle their Atlantic 10 rivalry with La Salle this weekend.\u00a0 Friday’s series opener will mark the first meeting between the two programs since 2021.
