<\/p>\n ITHACA, N.Y. \u2013 The Ithaca College baseball team posted an impressive 12-2 victory over Alfred State on Wednesday afternoon at Freeman Field as the game ended after seven innings. Ithaca is now 17-12 on the season.<\/p>\n It was quick top of the first inning for Ray Stein<\/a> as he sat down Alfred State in order on just 10 pitches. Ithaca threatened in the bottom half of the first as two runners moved into scoring position after a double from Lucas Orlovitz<\/a>, but the inning came to an end on a groundout to keep the game scoreless.<\/p>\n In the bottom of the second, Ithaca loaded the bases before an out was recorded as Matt Curtis<\/a> led off with a single, Nate Rodriguez<\/a> followed with a walk and Ethan Daddabbo<\/a> reached on an error. Zack Sperger<\/a> then gave IC a 1-0 lead on a sacrifice fly.<\/p>\n The Bombers tacked on five more runs in the bottom of the fifth with the help of three Alfred State errors to make it 6-0. Anthony Mestre<\/a> singled to start the rally and later scored on the first error of the inning. Ethan Fantel<\/a> scored the next run as he reached on a hit by pitch, moved to second on an error and scored on another Pioneers misplay during a base hit from Orlovitz. Matt Curtis<\/a> doubled to plate Orolovitz for a 4-0 lead and then a dropped fly ball brought in two more runs.<\/p>\n In the bottom of the sixth, the Bombers put four more runs on the board to build a 10-lead. Fantel delivered an RBI single through the right side and a pinch hit two-run home run from Merrick Sullivan<\/a> to extend the lead to 9-0. Ben Raspanti<\/a> drove in the 10th run of the contest with a single to left.<\/p>\n Alfred State scored twice in the top of the seventh inning, but Ithaca ended the contest in the bottom half as Jake Alfano<\/a> belted a two-run walk-off homer to activate the 10-run rule.<\/p>\n Ray Stein<\/a> earned the win as he tossed two perfect innings in his start. Trevor Greene<\/a>, Anders Lowkes<\/a>, Ben Ruth<\/a>, Cole Zalzal<\/a> and Ezra Sadowsky<\/a>.<\/p>\n Ithaca hosts Hobart tomorrow at 4 p.m., which is a schedule adjustment from Saturday due to inclement weather in the forecast.<\/p>\n \u00a0
