After a strong spring training in which he slashed .302\/.362\/.395 with a grand slam, a double and two stolen bases, Roden began the season hot with Triple-A St. Paul. In 87 plate appearances with the Saints this year, Roden has hit .275\/.425\/.464 with three home runs, four doubles, 15 RBI and two stolen bases.<\/p>\n
Many Twins fans were clamoring for Roden, a strong defender, to make Minnesota’s Opening Day roster<\/a> after his strong spring. With outfielders Matt Wallner and James Outman’s early-season struggles<\/a>, it appeared that Roden would be headed back to the majors soon. Unfortunately, Roden’s injury will keep him out of the big leagues until at least late May.<\/p>\n Twins RHP Travis Adams rehabbing with Triple-A St. Paul<\/p>\n Adams, 26, began the season on the injured list with a right tricep strain after making three spring training appearances, his last on March 1. Minnesota sent the righty on a rehab assignment to Low-A Fort Myers<\/a> on April 15. Adams pitched two perfect innings with three strikeouts across two appearances with Fort Myers before the Twins moved his rehab assignment up to Triple-A St. Paul.<\/p>\n Adams, whose pitch arsenal consists of a mid-90s four-seamer and sinker, mid-80s slider, low-90s cutter, high-80s changeup and high-70s curveball, made his first Triple-A appearance of the season on Wednesday. He surrendered three earned runs on four hits and one walk with one strikeout in 1 2\/3 innings. <\/p>\n In 18 outings (two starts) with Minnesota last year, Adams posted a 7.49 ERA with 31 strikeouts and 17 walks in 33 2\/3 innings. With St. Paul, the righty sported a 3.93 ERA with 64 strikeouts and 23 walks in 68 2\/3 innings across 23 appearances (five starts) in 2025.<\/p>\n It’s unclear whether the Twins will option Adams to Triple-A St. Paul or have him join Minnesota’s 26-man roster when he’s activated from the IL. If general manager Jeremy Zoll decides to keep Adams on the Twins’ 26-man roster, Minnesota may consider optioning RHP Garrett Acton or RHP Andrew Morris as a corresponding move. Designating RHP Justin Topa or LHP Anthony Banda is also an option.<\/p>\n
