ST. LOUIS (AP) \u2014 Julio Rodr\u00edguez, Will Wilson and Cole Young each homered, and Leo Rivas hit a two-run single in the ninth to help the Seattle Mariners<\/a> beat the St. Louis Cardinals<\/a> 11-9 on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Rivas lined the bases-loaded hit off Riley O\u2019Brien (3-1), who had not allowed an earned run in 13 previous appearances this season.<\/p>\n

Matt Brash (2-0) pitched a scoreless eighth inning, and Andr\u00e9s Mu\u00f1oz pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his fifth save.<\/p>\n

Nathan Church homered twice and had four RBIs, JJ Wetherholt and Iv\u00e1n Herrera hit back-to-back home runs to leadoff the bottom of the first inning, and Pedro Pag\u00e9s also homered for St. Louis.<\/p>\n

Mitch Garver and Young hit back-to-back singles off JoJo Romero to leadoff the eighth inning, and Connor Joe stroked a pinch-hit, two-run single off O\u2019Brien to tie the game at 9-all.<\/p>\n

Church hit a two-run homer, his fourth of the season, to right-center field in the seventh inning to pull the Cardinals ahead 9-7 after hitting a solo shot to right field in the second.<\/p>\n

Bryan Woo allowed a career high-tying seven runs on nine hits including four home runs in three innings for Seattle.<\/p>\n

Matthew Liberatore allowed five runs, all coming via home runs, in 3 1\/3 innings for St. Louis.<\/p>\n

RED SOX 17, ORIOLES 1<\/p>\n

BALTIMORE (AP) \u2014 Andruw Monasterio hit a grand slam as part of a 10-run ninth inning and Boston snapped a four-game skid with a victory over Baltimore.<\/p>\n

Hours later, the Red Sox (10-17) fired manager Alex Cora<\/a> and five members of the coaching staff. He will be replaced on an interim basis by Chad Tracy, who had been managing the club\u2019s Triple-A Worcester affiliate.<\/p>\n

Willson Contreras added a three-run homer and Caleb Durbin a two-run shot in the Boston ninth against Orioles outfielder Weston Wilson, after Monasterio\u2019s drive had helped to chase reliever Keegan Akin in his season debut.<\/p>\n

It was the biggest inning of the season for the Red Sox.<\/p>\n

The late power show came after Orioles starter Trevor Rogers (2-3) allowed three runs in 1 2\/3 innings, throwing 47 of his 62 pitches in the second. His ERA has ballooned from 1.89 to 4.75 in the past three starts.<\/p>\n

Garrett Crochet (3-3) struck out seven over six shutout innings, the first four coming while the game was still competitive.<\/p>\n

BLUE JAYS 5, GUARDIANS 3<\/p>\n

TORONTO (AP) \u2014 Kazuma Okamoto homered for the second straight game, Andr\u00e9s Gim\u00e9nez hit a two-run single and Toronto beat Cleveland.<\/p>\n

Daulton Varsho had the tiebreaking hit in Toronto\u2019s three-run sixth inning as the Blue Jays won for just the second time in eight games against AL Central opponents.<\/p>\n

Kevin Gausman (2-1) allowed two runs and six hits in 6 2\/3 innings to win his second straight start as the Blue Jays bounced back from Friday\u2019s 8-6 loss<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mason Fluharty got one out, Tyler Rogers worked the eighth and Louis Varland survived a rocky ninth inning for his second save in two chances despite allowing pinch hitter Kyle Manzardo\u2019s RBI double. Varland struck out Brayan Rocchio for the final out, leaving the bases loaded.<\/p>\n

Okamoto went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and scored twice. He homered in the fourth, singled and scored in the sixth and drove in a run with a bases-loaded walk in the seventh.<\/p>\n

David Fry hit a solo home run, his first, but Cleveland couldn\u2019t manage to win back-to-back games for the fourth time. The Guardians have yet to win three straight in 2026.<\/p>\n

RAYS 6, TWINS 1<\/p>\n

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) \u2014Shane McClanahan turned in five scoreless innings to get his first win at Tropicana Field in nearly three years as Tampa Bay<\/a> beat Minnesota<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The left-hander, returning from two surgeries that cost him the 2024 and 2025 seasons, scattered three hits and struck out seven.<\/p>\n

Kevin Kelly, Hunter Bigge and Trevor Martin finishing up for McClanahan (2-2).<\/p>\n

Jake Fraley provided the early run support, connecting for a two-run home run in the fourth inning, his second of the season. The Rays added four more runs late, capped by a Ben Williamson RBI double in the eighth.<\/p>\n

Williamson finished with a single, double and triple.<\/p>\n

Bailey Ober (2-1) was solid for Minnesota, allowing two runs on three hits over six innings, but it was not enough against a dominant Rays offense that has won six straight games when out-homering its opponent.<\/p>\n

The win was the third straight for the Rays, who are 3-1 against Minnesota in the season series. The Twins have lost four straight and eight of their last nine.<\/p>\n

GIANTS 6, MARLINS 2<\/p>\n

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) \u2014 Casey Schmidt hit a two-run homer, Drew Gilbert and Heliot Ramos added solo shots and San Francisco beat Miami.<\/p>\n

The Marlins took an early 1-0 lead on Xavier Edwards\u2019 RBI single off Giants starter Robbie Ray with two outs in the third before Gilbert tied it in the fifth with his homer off Miami starter Eury P\u00e9rez, his second of the season.<\/p>\n

P\u00e9rez then surrendered a double to Matt Chapman and a home run to Schmidt in the sixth, giving the Giants a 3-1 lead. After P\u00e9rez (2-2) was pulled, Patrick Bailey made it 4-1 with an RBI single.<\/p>\n

Ramos hit his third homer of the season in the eighth and Luis Arraez made it 6-1 with an RBI single, his second hit of the game. The Giants finished with 11 hits on the day.<\/p>\n

Matt Gage (2-0) got the win in relief of Ray, who allowed four hits and struck out four in five innings.<\/p>\n

P\u00e9rez struck out six but allowed seven hits and four earned runs.<\/p>\n

NATIONALS 6, WHITE SOX 3, 10 INNINGS<\/p>\n

CHICAGO (AP) \u2014 Nasim Nunez drove in four runs, including two in the top of the 10th inning, as Washington beat Chicago.<\/p>\n

Automatic runner James Wood scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the top of the 10th before the Nationals tacked on three more runs against Jordan Leasure (2-1) on a walk with the bases loaded and a two-run single by Nunez.<\/p>\n

The White Sox could muster only one run in the bottom of the 10th off Brad Lord.<\/p>\n

Washington starter Jake Irvin allowed four hits, struck out nine and walked none. Cionel Perez (2-3) pitched a scoreless ninth for the win as the Nationals won for the first time in four games.<\/p>\n

Noah Schultz allowed two runs on four hits over six innings while striking out eight for the White Sox.<\/p>\n

PIRATES 6, BREWERS 3, 10 innings<\/p>\n

MILWAUKEE (AP) \u2014 Nick Gonzales had a go-ahead single in the 10th, Bryan Reynolds followed with a two-run single and Pittsburgh beat Milwaukee.<\/p>\n

Henry Davis started the 10th at second for the Pirates against Angel Zerpa (0-2). Pinch-hitter Marcell Ozuna walked and Nick Yorke pinch ran for Ozuna. Reynolds singled to left to score Davis and chase Zerpa. Gonzales then hit a sharp single off Grant Anderson to drive in Yorke and Reynolds.<\/p>\n

Gregory Soto (2-0) pitched the ninth, and Yohan Ram\u00edrez worked the 10th for his first save.<\/p>\n

Milwaukee had a chance in the bottom of the eighth against Dennis Santana. Garrett Mitchell laced a two-out double and Sal Frelick was walked intentionally before Greg Jones struck out swinging.<\/p>\n

Frelick had a pair of sacrifice flies for Milwaukee, the second off reliever Issac Mattson to tie 3 in the sixth.<\/p>\n

Spencer Horwitz\u2019 sacrifice fly in the sixth put the Pirates ahead 3-2. He also drove in a run with a single to center in the fourth. Rookie Konnor Griffin followed with his second hit in the game, a two-out run-scoring single.<\/p>\n

The Brewers tied it in the fourth. Jack Bauers led off with a single and took second on left fielder Jack Mangun\u2019s fielding error. Mitchell\u2019s groundout scored Bauers.<\/p>\n

RANGERS 4, ATHLETICS 3<\/p>\n

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) \u2014 Josh Jung hit a go-ahead, two-run home run in the sixth inning in the Texas Rangers\u2019 victory over the Athletics.<\/p>\n

Jung muscled an inside slider for an opposite-field homer into the home bullpen in right-center following Corey Seager\u2019s single to help the Rangers tie the A\u2019s atop the AL West at 14-13.<\/p>\n

Jung is hitting .371 in April with four homers, 11 runs and 14 RBI after beginning the season 0 for 17 in March.<\/p>\n

Cole Winn (2-1) retired all three batters he faced following left-handed starter MacKenzie Gore, who allowed all three runs on six hits and three walks in five innings. Jacob Latz, the last of four Texas relievers, pitched a perfect ninth inning for his first save of the season.<\/p>\n

A\u2019s left-hander Jeffrey Springs (3-2) lost his second consecutive start, giving up all four runs in six innings on five hits, two walks and one hit batter.<\/p>\n

The Athletics built a 3-0 lead on RBI singles from Darell Hernaiz in the second inning and rookie Colby Thomas in the third, plus Jacob Wilson\u2019s third-inning sacrifice fly.<\/p>\n

PADRES 6, DIAMONDBACKS 4<\/p>\n

MEXICO CITY (AP) \u2014 Ty France homered twice and Gavin Sheets hit a two-run single during a four-run seventh inning as San Diego<\/a> rallied past Arizona<\/a> in Mexico City.<\/p>\n

Mason Miller pitched a perfect ninth for his 10th save, extending his scoreless streak to 34 2\/3 innings dating to last season and breaking the previous Padres record set by reliever Cla Meredith with 33 2\/3 innings in 2006.<\/p>\n

The hard-throwing Miller hasn\u2019t allowed a run since Aug. 5, 2025. It\u2019s the eighth-longest shutout streak by a major league reliever since 1961.<\/p>\n

Diamondbacks right-hander Zac Gallen was hit by a line drive on his pitching shoulder in the third. He was lifted after three shutout innings as a precaution, manager Torey Lovullo said.<\/p>\n

Padres starter Germ\u00e1n M\u00e1rquez (3-1) gave up four runs in the second, but that was it. He lasted six innings, allowing six hits and a walk while striking out two.<\/p>\n

San Diego (18-8) has won 16 of 19 after a 2-5 start.<\/p>\n

Jose Fernandez hit a two-run double in the Arizona second and No. 9 batter Alek Thomas followed with a two-run homer.<\/p>\n

RED 9, TIGERS 2<\/p>\n

CINCINNATI (AP) \u2014 Sal Stewart hit a three-run home run and drove in five runs as Cincinnati beat Detroit.<\/p>\n

Nathaniel Lowe, Elly De La Cruz and TJ Friedl also homered for Cincinnati which is nine games over .500 for the first time since Aug. 2, 2003. At 18-9, the Reds are off to their best start since going 18-8 in 2003.<\/p>\n

Tigers rookie Kevin McGonigle led off the game with a solo home run, his second of the season. He has reached base in 23 straight starts, the longest streak for a Tigers rookie since Austin Jackson reached in 25 straight from April 11 to May 9, 2010.<\/p>\n

Reds right-hander Brady Singer (2-1) allowed eight hits and two solo home runs through 5 1\/3 innings.<\/p>\n

Stewart\u2019s ninth home run of the season followed a pair of walks issued by Jack Flaherty to put Cincinnati ahead 3-1.<\/p>\n

Four pitches later, Lowe, who hit the two-run, walk-off homer in the Reds\u2019 9-8 win on Friday<\/a>, hit his second homer in as many at-bats to make the score 4-1.<\/p>\n

De La Cruz increased the lead to 6-1 with a two-run blast, his ninth, in the second inning.<\/p>\n

Stewart and De La Cruz are the second pair of Reds teammates since 1900 to each hit at least nine homers before May in the same season, joining Austin Kearns and Adam Dunn in 2003.<\/p>\n
