The Atlanta Braves have been the best team<\/a> in baseball through one month of the 2026 MLB season, currently sitting at 19-9 on the season. This is the first year at the helm for manager Walt Weiss<\/a>, who took over for Brian Snitker<\/a> at the conclusion of the 2025 season.<\/p>\n

Recently, Snitker was inducted into the Braves’ Hall of Fame, and he has since shared his reaction<\/a> to the news at a recent ceremony.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s humbling, and just it’s a great feeling,\u201d Snitker said, per the Associated Press, via ESPN. \u201cHonestly feels really good to be in the presence of all (the inductees), those legendary Braves guys.\u201d<\/p>\n

Snitker’s son Troy, who is a pitching coach for the New York Mets, was also unexpectedly able to be in attendance for the induction of his father after New York’s game was rained out.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wasn’t doing anything but trying to be me,\u201d Snitker said. \u201cI’ve never tried to put on airs. I’ve never tried to be anybody but me. As a manager, I was talking about this with somebody last night, we have to do things the way we do them, because that’s how we do them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Snitker has been a part of the Braves organization for 50 years and helped lead the team to a 2021 World Series as manager. He has since transitioned into a front office role with the squad.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Braves are hoping to add another ring to their trophy case this year, and the team has gotten off to a red-hot start, currently leading the NL East by 5.5 games just a month into the season. Atlanta’s much-maligned pitching staff has answered the doubters thus far, and the bats have also mostly woken up in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

The Braves will conclude their series against the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n
