{"id":684791,"date":"2026-04-28T07:18:24","date_gmt":"2026-04-28T07:18:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/684791\/"},"modified":"2026-04-28T07:18:24","modified_gmt":"2026-04-28T07:18:24","slug":"report-guardians-promoting-top-prospect-to-mlb-roster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/684791\/","title":{"rendered":"Report: Guardians promoting top prospect to MLB roster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tue, April 28, 2026 at 1:31 AM UTC<img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"900\" height=\"599\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"standard-img w-full w-full h-auto\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/663738254ff4d846581532facd3d26cd.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKBN) \u2013 ESPN\u2019s Jeff Passan is reporting that the Cleveland Guardians are calling up former No. 1 overall draft pick Travis Bazzana to the Major League roster.<\/p>\n<p>His first appearance will mark his Major League debut.<\/p>\n<p>This season at Triple-A, the 23-year-old posted a batting average of .287 with two home runs, 11 doubles, two triples, and 10 RBI\u2019s in 24 games.<\/p>\n<p>He also played for Australia in the World Baseball Classic, and batted .188 with one home run and two RBI\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Bazzana was selected by Cleveland with the top overall pick in the 2024 Major League Baseball Draft out of Oregon State.<\/p>\n<p>He is rated as the Guardians\u2019 No. 1 overall prospect in the organization.<\/p>\n<p>The Guardians will host the Rays on Tuesday at 6:10 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
