Washington State\u2019s Sam Renner tied for 23rd at 2 over for the weekend, Garrett Harrison tied for 30th at 3 over and Ben Borgida rounded out the Cougs\u2019 scoring at a tied-for-46th 7 over.<\/p>\n
As a team, the Cougars ended the 54-hole event at 7-over 859, trailing first-place San Diego by 29 strokes. <\/p>\n

LOWELL, Ore. \u2014 Washington State\u2019s 3V8 team of Olivia Sloma, Poppy Montgomery, Brianna Brownlee, Taye Brodzinski, Colette Coleman, Pasha McPherson, Grace Law, Kate Schroeder and coxswain Keira Johnson claimed a first-place finish to highlight the Cougars\u2019 day at the Winchell Cup against Oregon State.<\/p>\n
The team clocked in at 7 minutes, 12.30 seconds, beating out the Beavers\u2019 crew by nine seconds. Oregon State won the day\u2019s other events.<\/p>\n
\u201cThanks to Oregon State for hosting us,\u201d WSU coach Jane LaRiviere said. \u201cThe weather cooperated and the team took a couple of steps in the right direction. The 2V8 had a very gutsy race, and I was proud of them. Kudos to the 3V8 for their win; it was a come-from-behind victory, and the dev squad really stepped up today.\u201d <\/p>\n
The Cougs will return to action for the West Coast Conference Championships on May 15-16 on Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif.<\/p>\n

Vandals\u2019 Sturgis posts javelin win <\/p>\n
CORVALLIS, Ore. \u2014 Idaho senior Blake Sturgis won the men\u2019s javelin with a throw of 220 feet even at the Oregon State High Performance Meet held Friday and Saturday at Whyte Track and Field Center.<\/p>\n
Teammate Wyatt Pickering ran a personal best time of 1 minute, 53.12 seconds to take third in the men\u2019s 800, and Mason Andulajevic placed third in the hammer throw with a distance of 195-5 for the Vandals. On the women\u2019s side, UI\u2019s Adisyn Andrews was fourth in the javelin at 140-6.<\/p>\n
