Brice Turang has developed into one of the most valuable players on the Milwaukee Brewers<\/a>. Now in his fourth season with the club, the 26-year-old second baseman has continued to provide an all-around impact.<\/p>\n

Through 30 games this year, Turang has posted a .291 batting average, .428 on-base percentage, .918 OPS, four home runs and 20 RBIs. With that kind of offensive output and the elite defense of a Gold and Platinum Glove winner, Turang has become impossible for Milwaukee to replace.<\/p>\n

His consistency has been huge for a Brewers team that has been without outfielder Jackson Chourio for the entire season, along with Andrew Vaughn and Christian Yelich both currently on the injured list.<\/p>\n

Ahead of Sunday\u2019s series finale against the Washington Nationals<\/a>, Turang was listed in the starting lineup, hitting leadoff and playing second base. However, just moments before first pitch, he was removed.<\/p>\n

Backup infielder Luis Rengifo entered in his place and shifted to third base, with David Hamilton moving over to second. The Brewers announced that Turang had been scratched due to illness.<\/p>\n

The silver lining is that Turang is not dealing with any physical setback, but it is still disappointing for Milwaukee to lose one of its most productive players for the day. His next chance to return will come Monday in a series opener against the St. Louis Cardinals<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Milwaukee will look to extend its winning streak to four games without one of its most important contributors in the lineup.<\/p>\n
