The Kirk Gibson Foundation <\/a>for Parkinson\u2019s announced the Detroit Tigers<\/a> will support its efforts during the 2026 regular season, with a portion of ticket sales benefiting the organization\u2019s programs.<\/p>\n

The foundation said on Tuesday (May 5) that $5 from each ticket purchased for Tigers regular-season games through its website will directly support its mission to improve the quality of life for people living with Parkinson\u2019s disease.<\/p>\n

The nonprofit was founded by former Major League Baseball World Series champion turned manager Kirk Gibson<\/a> after he was diagnosed with Parkinson\u2019s disease in 2015. <\/p>\n

Gibson spent most of his career with Detroit and also played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Kansas City Royals, and Pittsburgh Pirates.<\/p>\n

The foundation focuses on developing and delivering activity-based programs to help people manage Parkinson\u2019s symptoms and improve daily life. <\/p>\n

That mission expanded in 2025 with the opening of the Kirk Gibson Center for Parkinson\u2019s Wellness in Farmington Hills<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The facility is the first of its kind in Michigan and offers a range of programs at no cost to participants.<\/p>\n

Officials said the center provides evidence-based services that emphasize movement and overall wellness, aiming to alleviate symptoms and support those living with the disease. <\/p>\n

The facility also serves as a hub for education, community, and support.<\/p>\n

Tickets for all Tigers games are currently on sale, and purchases made through the foundation\u2019s website<\/a> will support its programs and services across Michigan.<\/p>\n
