The Los Angeles<\/a> lost a humiliating 14-1 blowout to the Toronto Blue Jays<\/a>, as a Jack Kochanowicz<\/a> error opened the door for the Blue Jays to score seven runs in the fifth inning.<\/p>\n

The first three innings were scoreless, but the Blue Jays started to break through against Kochanowicz in the fourth as they scratched out their first run. The Angels starter hit Jesus Sanchez<\/a> with a pitch, and consecutive singles by Daulton Varsho<\/a> and Ernie Clement<\/a> loaded the bases. Andres Gimenez<\/a> drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, but Kochanowicz was able to get out of the jam and prevent further damage.<\/p>\n

The wheels came off completely for Kochanowicz in the fourth, however. He walked Addison Barger<\/a> to start the inning, and Vladimir Guerrero singled. A wild pitch moved them up, and Kazumo Okamoto singled in the first run of the inning, with Sanchez following suit to get the second run home.<\/p>\n

A throwing error on an ordinary comebacker signaled the beginning of the end Kochanowicz\u2019s day and brought in yet another run, and Ernie Clement continued the rally with a single to make it 5-0. Mitch Farris<\/a> came in and quickly poured gas on the fire by allowing a three-run homer to Brandon Valenzuela that upped the count to 8-0. Farris finally got a couple of outs to end the inning, but the game was essentially over at that point.<\/p>\n

Clement didn\u2019t get the memo about that, though, as he piled on with his second home run of the year against Farris to make it 9-0. Guerrero singled in a run to make it 10-, and while the Angels had some early chances, there was no way they were coming back from that kind of deficit.<\/p>\n

The lead also allowed the Blue Jays to remove Trey Yesavage<\/a> after four shutout innings as they continue to manage his shoulder injury, and a string of Toronto relievers continued to shut down the Angels until the eighth. Adam Frazier<\/a> plated a token run with an RBI single to ruin the shutout and finally get the Halos on the board.<\/p>\n

The fun continued when Frazier took to the mound in the bottom of the inning, and Jesus Sanchez quickly lit him up with a home run. Three more runs followed to produce the final score in this ugly loss.<\/p>\n

The Angels have proven to be a handy cure of the Blue Jays\u2019 recent losing streak. The Halos played some embarrassing baseball in this one, and they proved that their series win over the White Sox<\/a> was a serious outlier.
