There have already been some moves around Major League Baseball, with the San Francisco Giants<\/a> sending young catcher Patrick Bailey<\/a> to the Cleveland Guardians<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bailey being traded came as somewhat of a surprise, as the 26-year-old is one of the best defensive catchers in baseball, though his offensive production has been a bit worrisome over the past few years, effectively ending his time in the Bay Area.<\/p>\n

There are going to be some teams that also decide to get rid of players who we don’t expect them to, and the New York Mets<\/a> could be at the top of that list. The Mets have some of the more interesting trade candidates around baseball, with Freddy Peralta<\/a> continuing to be mentioned among potential moves.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn Friday, rumors began centered around Peralta. Bruce Levine of 670thescore.com reported on X that the Chicago Cubs<\/a> called the Mets about Peralta. Then, he followed up with a conflicting report and said the Cubs have called about many pitchers, but not specifically Peralta. Regardless, the noise has begun and the Mets are towards the bottom of the league standings. Peralta is going to be a free agent after the season,\u201d Patrick McAvoy of SI wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Peralta is going to have a massive market if the Mets decide to go in that direction. There really isn’t much reason for them not to at least consider a trade, unless Peralta takes an extension sometime before the deadline.<\/p>\n
