JASON SZENES FOR THE NEW YORK POST<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere may be some ligament stuff going on,\u201d Schneider said. \u201cThey\u2019re going to figure that out when they\u2019re in there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Berr\u00edos made four rehab starts at Triple-A but was shut down after experiencing discomfort during his May 3 outing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s always risk with pitchers,\u201d Schneider said. \u201cEven if they\u2019re healthy as can be, there\u2019s always risk. AP Photo\/Matt Slocum<\/p>\n<p>He has two years and $48 million remaining on his contract.<\/p>\n<p>Considering the uncertainty of his health, it seems unlikely that Berr\u00edos would opt out even if he does end up making his season debut.<\/p>\n<p>The Blue Jays\u2019 rotation already is without Shane Bieber, Max Scherzer and Cody Ponce.<\/p>\n<p>Berr\u00edos, 31, has been a model of stability during an era of heightened arm injuries. <\/p>\n<p>He made at least 30 starts in each of the last seven 162-game seasons and 12 in the shortened 60-game season in 2020.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Jos\u00e9 Berr\u00edos\u2019 delayed start to the season could turn into a full missed season.
