Los Angeles Angels<\/a> fans are expressing their opinions about owner Arte Moreno loud and clear. Fans want Moreno, who bought the franchise in 2003, to sell the team.<\/p>\n

A group of out-of-state club baseball players recently started a \u201cTarps Off\u201d trend<\/a> during a game against the St. Louis Cardinals<\/a> and Kansas City Royals<\/a> at Busch Stadium on Saturday. The fans in the right-field seats\u00a0took off their shirts and waved them around while wildly cheering and chanting during the eighth inning.<\/p>\n

The cheers ultimately helped fuel the Cardinals to a walk-off victory over the Royals. And now, the \u201cTarps Off\u201d trend has carried over into other stadiums, including Angel Stadium on Monday night.<\/p>\n

As a group of fans waved their shirts around in the air, they also chanted, \u201cSell the team!\u201d<\/p>\n

Angels Have the Worst Record in Baseball<\/p>\n

The Angels have struggled through a franchise-record 10 consecutive losing seasons, and the Halos are on track to add an 11th losing season to that record if something does not improve soon.<\/p>\n

Under new manager Kurt Suzuki<\/a>, Los Angeles<\/a> holds a 17-31 record, which is the worst record across all MLB teams this season. The Colorado Rockies<\/a> in the National League have the second-worst record in baseball (19-29).<\/p>\n

Moreno has expressed some of priorities are keeping Angels game affordable and safe for families to attend.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe number one thing fans want is affordability,\u201d Moreno told reporters on February 20. \u201cThey want affordability. They want safety, and they want a good experience when they come to the ballpark. Believe it or not, winning is not in their top five.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although this seems like a good idea, many fans want the franchise to start spending more to land top players that can lead the Angels back to the postseason. The Angels have only been to postseason once since 2010, despite having superstars like Mike Trout<\/a> and Shohei Ohtani<\/a> on the roster in previous seasons.<\/p>\n

Moreno reportedly explored options to sell the team after the 2022 season. But as of now, it does not seem like Moreno has any intention of giving up the Angels.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love being an owner,\u201d Moreno said in February, per MLB<\/a>. \u201cBut then age gets to be a big part of it. But let\u2019s put it this way. I\u2019m not shopping.\u201d<\/p>\n
