The postponed game will be made up today as part of a double header.<\/p>\n<p>Akron RubberDucks (24-18) &#8211; AA<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The RubberDucks were also rained out. The postponed game will be made up on Sunday as part of a double header.<\/p>\n<p>Lake County Captains (21-21) &#8211; High A<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Lake County got to play yesterday, despite the storms hammering this part of the country. Jackson Humphries got the start, throwing 3.1 innings. He allowed 4 runs on 2 hits and 6 walks, striking out 5 batters. Luis Flores closed out the fourth inning, allowing 2 runs and 1 hit, walking 3 of the batters he faced. Michael Kennedy ultimately got the loss, falling to 3-2 on the season. Kennedy pitched the fifth, sixth, and seventh inning, starting the eighth. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits and a walk. Izaak Martinez closed out the game, finishing the eighth and pitching the ninth of scoreless baseball with 3 strikeouts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The Captains kept the game close despite being down two to start the game. In the bottom of the second Luke Hill hit a lead off single. He reached second on a stolen base, setting him up to score the first run for the Caps. Bennett Thompson and Maick Collado hit back-to-back singles to score Hill.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">In the bottom of the third, down by two runs and with two outs, Dean Curley drew a crucial walk. Nolan Schubart worked an 0-2 count, launching the third pitch to right field for a 2-run home run.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The Caps fought to close the gap in the bottom of the fifth. Aaron Walton reached on a lead off fielding error. Jace LaViolette hit a double to right, scoring Walton.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Dean Curley reached on a hit by pitch. With one out, Jace and Curley successfully completed a double steal. A costly throwing error allowed Luke Hill to reach and both LaViolette and Curley to scored, tying the game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Jeffrey Mercedes hit a lead off home run in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The Caps weren\u2019t able to pull out another run to tie or win the game, falling by one run.<\/p>\n<p>Hill City Howlers (22-21) &#8211; Single A<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The Howlers dropped game one of the their Friday night double header. Joey Oakie fell to 0-3 on the season. He threw 4.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and 3 walks. He struck out 4 of the 17 batters faced. Luke Fernandez finished the shortened game, pitching 2.2 innings. He allowed a solo home run and 1 walk, striking out 4 batters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Hill City\u2019s sole run in game one came in the bottom of the fourth. Robert Arias reached on a throwing error, ending on second base. Jose Pirela doubled on a fly ball to center to score Arias.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The Howlers took game two from the RidgeYaks. Hill City used Jervis Alfaro and Zane Petty to finish off the stalemate. Petty earned his 4th win of the season. Alfaro went 5.0IP\/4H\/1R\/1BB\/4K. Petty went 3.0IP\/0H\/0R\/02BB\/2K.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The Howler\u2019s offense bookended the game with runs in the first and eighth inning. In the bottom of the first, Robert Arias lead off with a single the center. Riley Nelson reached on catchers interference, but Arias was caught stealing 3rd base. With two outs, Jose Pirela doubled to left to score Nelson. In the bottom of the eighth, with Yaikel Mijares on as the ghost runner, Cannon Peebles and Jose Pirela drew back-to-back, two-out walks, loading the bases.
