ANAHEIM, Calif. \u2014 Rangers third baseman Josh Jung was unavailable to play Sunday’s series finale against the Los Angeles Angels at Angels Stadium with what manager Skip\u00a0Schumaker described as a “pretty sore” left shoulder<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jung exited Saturday’s 5-2 loss<\/a> after he dived on his shoulder to stop a ground ball, and while he downplayed the severity postgame, the soreness did not subside a day later.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“He’s not going to be available \u2014 I don’t say that very often \u2014 but he’s definitely not,” Schumaker said. “So, we’ll see what happens when he wakes up tomorrow, and hopefully he feels a lot better tomorrow. He definitely felt it on the dive down the line. All the tests came back good, which is good to hear, but he’s sore today.”<\/p>\n

Jung has not undergone imaging yet, and Schumaker said that whether he will or not depends on how he feels Monday morning. The 28-year-old underwent labrum surgery on the same shoulder four years ago, so when he felt discomfort in it Saturday night for the first time since then, he said that he was “more scared than anything.”<\/p>\n

The Rangers, who are also without shortstop Corey Seager<\/a> (lower back inflammation), left fielder Wyatt Langford (right forearm strain) and second baseman Josh Smith (meningitis), were forced to use a creative lineup in Sunday’s finale.
