Freshman southpaw Adam Rose and senior righthander Zadok Roiger were models of efficiency on the mound Thursday pitching OFA and Canton into the Class B championship game of the Section 10 Baseball Tournament Saturday.<\/p>\n
Both hurlers consistently got ahead of batters and picked up 10-0 wins as their teams advanced.<\/p>\n
The Blue Devils reversed two NAC Central losses to Potsdam as Rose used 70 pitches to pitch his second straight win. Logan VanGorden secured the last two outs of the shutout.<\/p>\n

Canton won the rubber game of a three-game set with Gouverneur with Roiger needing only 51 pitches to dispatch the Wildcats.<\/p>\n
\u201cAdam Rose had great control with only one walk. He moved the ball around very well and his curve was very effective. We are playing our best baseball of the season right now. We only had one error today,\u201d said OFA Coach Brooks Brenno. \u201cWe go into the championship game with all of our pitchers ready to go and so do they. It should be a very good game.\u201d<\/p>\n

OFA 10 – Potsdam 0: Adam Rose allowed just four hits and Logan VanGorden yielded a single in the top of the seventh before OFA pushed across a game-ending run in the bottom of the seventh. Rose stroked his second single of the game and scored on a wild pitch.<\/p>\n
Haydin McDonald stroked three singles and scored two runs and Maddux Brenno doubled and singled and scored two runs in the first two spots of the batting order. Cole Mathews hit a two-run single and Blake Ashley doubled and singled.<\/p>\n
Evan Nelson, Dempsey Sutton and VanGorden all added singles.<\/p>\n
Sam Martin doubled and singled for Potsdam and Jack Vanleuvan, Issac Atkinson and Toby Miller also singled.<\/p>\n
Canton 10 – Gouverneur 0: Zadok Roiger singled twice and drove in three runs for Canton and Gavin Schryver singled twice and scored three runs. Lukas Clausen doubled and scored three times and Max Decoteau, Troy Zulsdorf and Jon Gidney all singled for the Bears who scored 10 runs in the first three innings.<\/p>\n
