The Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> received a bit of good news before opening a highly anticipated series against the Philadelphia Phillies<\/a>. While much of the focus has been on injuries and roster shuffling, the Dodgers managed to keep a former All-Star in the organization after what could have been the end of his time with the club.<\/p>\n

Infielder Santiago Espinal<\/a> cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Oklahoma City, allowing Los Angeles<\/a> to retain valuable infield depth despite recently designating him for assignment. It’s the type of move that may not generate headlines now, but it could become important later in the season.<\/p>\n

Dodgers dealing with mounting injury concerns<\/p>\n

Los Angeles enters its weekend series against the Philadelphia Phillies coming off a sweep of the Colorado Rockies<\/a>, but the victories came with a cost. Both Kik\u00e9 Hern\u00e1ndez<\/a> and Teoscar Hern\u00e1ndez<\/a> landed on the injured list, forcing the Dodgers to make roster adjustments.<\/p>\n
