“Bichette hit a home run against the Texas Rangers on Wednesday, then did the same on Thursday. After notching two singles on Friday, the 27-year-old came through with yet another home run in the bottom of the second inning of Saturday’s showdown with the Athletics.” -Connon<\/p>\n
That home run marked the 100th of Bichette’s career, making him the first shortstop in Blue Jays history to reach that milestone.<\/p>\n
So far this season, Bichette is hitting .279 with seven home runs, 32 RBI’s, four stolen bases, and a .761 OPS. Up to 2023, his career averages stood at a .299 batting average, .826 OPS, 27 home runs, 96 RBI’s, 16 stolen bases, and a 5.4 WAR per 162 games.<\/p>\n
Toronto edged out an 8-7 victory on Saturday, fueled by Bichette’s early home run and George Springer’s two later blasts.
