Twins shortstop prospect Kaelen Culpepper has been on a solid run for two months with the AAA-St. Paul Saints. So, how much longer will the Twins wait when it comes to calling him up?<\/p>\n
Culpepper, 23, was the Twins\u2019 first-round pick in 2024 out of Kansas State.<\/p>\n
So far this year at AAA, he\u2019s hit .265 with 14 homers, 13 stolen bases, 50 runs scored, and an .862 OPS (on-base + slugging percentage) in 56 games.\u00a0His defense has been fine, too.<\/p>\n
We spoke with Culpepper late last week about keeping patient and touched on all his success in St. Paul.<\/p>\n

With Brooks Lee moving to third base, the Twins are currently using Orlando Arcia, Tristan Gray, and Ryan Kreidler at shortstop.\u00a0Let\u2019s be frank: All three are better served in a backup role.<\/p>\n
The Twins are 30-37, tied for a season-worst seven games under .500. They\u2019ve lost 10 of their last 14 games, going through an early June swoon.<\/p>\n
Calling up Culpepper could provide a much-needed spark. If he struggles, he can always be optioned back to AAA.<\/p>\n
