After blitzing Philadelphia in the first two games of the series, Milwaukee could tally its second straight series sweep after taking down the Boston Red Sox. That’s two teams that view themselves as genuine contenders, and the Brewers have faced them both with inspiring performances.

Entering Sunday’s game, the Brewers’ recent hot streak has seen their offensive numbers flare. In the last 15 days, the Brewers rank second in runs scored, fifth in OPS, and second in stolen bases.

Jose Quintana was added to the roster in a transaction move this morning in order to make today’s start. In the corresponding move, left-hander Tyler Alexander was designated for assignment. After a solid start to the year (2.84 ERA through first four outings, spanning 12 2⁄3 innings), Alexander has struggled for the last month and a half, and particularly in the last couple of weeks — he’s allowed 11 earned runs in his last six appearances, spanning 6 1⁄3 innings, including five runs in the ninth inning yesterday.

As for Quintana, his performance this season has been admirable despite a lack of flashy numbers. He doesn’t strike out many batters, but he’s allowed more than one run in only a single start this year. His 2.65 ERA across 34 innings is a testament to his ability to get outs despite a lack of wipeout stuff.

For Philadelphia, Ranger Suárez enters on a solid streak of his own. He didn’t concede a run in either of his last two starts. He has given the Phillies depth, too, working at least six innings in all of his previous four starts.

The Brewers have centerfielder Jackson Chourio in the leadoff spot for today’s matchup. He’ll be followed by William Contreras, Christian Yelich, and Rhys Hoskins.

In the middle of the order, Daz Cameron, Sal Frelick, and Caleb Durbin hope to add to the offensive threat. The lineup rounds out with Joey Ortiz and Brice Turang. The full lineups can be seen below.

First pitch today is at 12:35 p.m. CT and can be seen on FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin and heard on the Brewers Radio Network.

The last week has been evidence of what this Milwaukee offense might look like at its best.
