El Paso Chihuahuas (Lost 4-2 vs Round Rock) (28-37 on the season)<\/p>\n

Carlos D. Rodriguez \u2013 2-for-5, Two Singles, RBI<\/p>\n

Blake Hunt<\/a> \u2013 1-for-3, RBI Single<\/p>\n

Jhony Brito<\/a> \u2013 4 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 4 K (77 pitches \u2013 44 strikes)<\/p>\n

Right-hander Jhony Brito made his first start with El Paso since August 17, 2024. Brito pitched four innings of one-run baseball against Round Rock, striking out four batters. Brito continued to get heavy amounts of ground balls, as five of 12 outs came on the ground against the Express. The quality of contact allowed by Brito will be an area that he will need to work on to return to the big leagues, as five of 11 balls in play against him registered over 95 mph. Logan Gillapsie allowed a run in an inning of work, walking two batters. Miguel Cienfuegos<\/a> allowed one run in one inning and one batter, with a bequeathed runner scoring accounting for the one run. Ethan Routzahn<\/a> gave up two hits and a run of his own in the seventh inning. Ty Adcock<\/a> pitched a scoreless inning in his second Chihuahuas outing, striking out two.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Carlos D. Rodriguez was the lone Chihuahuas player to register a multi-hit game, as he hit two singles. Rodriguez drove in one of two Chihuahuas runs on the night. Blake Hunt drove in the other, as El Paso\u2019s catcher hit a second inning single to score Mason McCoy<\/a>. Nate Mondou<\/a> reached base twice in the loss, drawing a walk and picking up a single. Pablo Reyes<\/a> singled and stole the team\u2019s lone base of the game. El Paso\u2019s newest addition, first baseman Nick Pratto<\/a>, went 0-for-1 in the loss.\u00a0<\/p>\n

San Antonio Missions (Lost 5-0 vs Frisco) (25-34 on the season)<\/p>\n

Ethan Salas<\/a> \u2013 2-for-3, Two Singles<\/p>\n

Ryan Jackson<\/a> \u2013 1-for-4, Single<\/p>\n

Eric Yost<\/a> \u2013 3.1 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 3 K (66 pitches \u2013 39 strikes)<\/p>\n

The Missions were shut out for just the fourth time this season, as they picked up just three hits in a loss to Frisco. Ethan Salas was responsible for two of the three San Antonio hits, hitting two singles. Salas DH\u2019d once more, as he has done for the last few Wednesdays; San Antonio has taken their time with getting Salas everyday reps, and he has not caught more than five games a week this season. Ryan Jackson hit a single in four at-bats, with his base hit setting up a scoring chance in the first inning. The Missions were unable to cash in, as after a Romeo Sanabria<\/a> sac bunt, both Tirso Ornelas<\/a> and Luis Verdugo<\/a> were retired without a runner scoring. Brendan Durfee<\/a> recorded the team\u2019s lone walk of the night, also going 1-for-3 in throwing out baserunners defensively. Braedon Karpathios<\/a> did not start for a second consecutive game.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Eric Yost made his first start since coming off the injured list, pitching 3.1 innings of three-run baseball. Yost struck out three, with his big breaking pitches generating nine whiffs in the game. Yost also got up to 66 pitches in his outing, a strong sign as he continues to build up. Andrew Thurman<\/a> threw 2.2 innings of hitless baseball in long relief, striking out three and walking three. Thurman has now thrown back to back scoreless appearances for the first time this season. Johan Moreno<\/a> allowed two runs in 1.2 innings of relief, throwing a wild pitch in the seventh which scored a run. The 23-year old right-hander has gained more notoriety in the system this season, but this outing broke a five-game scoreless streak for him. Sadrac Franco<\/a> pitched 1.1 innings of scoreless relief, and has not allowed a run over his last three appearances.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne TinCaps (Lost 14-2 vs Dayton) (24-35 on the season)<\/p>\n

Jack Costello<\/a> \u2013 1-for-4, Double, Run Scored<\/p>\n

Maikel Miralles<\/a> \u2013 4 IP, 5 H, 4 R (3 ER), 2 BB, 2 K (72 pitches \u2013 41 strikes)\u00a0<\/p>\n

Maikel Miralles had the kind of start that was a tale of two cities. The first \u201ccity\u201d in this case is the first four innings, as the right-hander did not allow a run across the first four frames. Miralles only gave up three hits in the first four innings, but the fifth inning was a different experience. The fifth inning was a case of whiplash by comparison, as the four batters he faced in the frame went as follows: double, sacrifice + throwing error, walk, three-run home run. Miralles\u2019 outing was still one to build from, as the right-hander pitched his longest outing by innings since May 13 against Cedar Rapids. The Fort Wayne bullpen struggled yet again, as three of four relievers gave up runs. Igor Gil<\/a> allowed three runs on three doubles and a walk in one inning of relief. Isaiah Lowe<\/a> picked up four outs but allowed three runs, his fourth consecutive appearance giving up at least one earned run. Luis German<\/a> allowed four runs in 1.1 innings, with six baserunners reaching against him. Will Varmette<\/a> was the lone TinCaps reliever to not allow a run, striking out the only batter he faced.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The TinCaps\u2019 lineup failed to hit for much power in the hitter-friendly confines of Day Air Ballpark. Jack Costello\u2019s double against Dayton reliever Jimmy Romano<\/a> was the team\u2019s lone extra-base hit of the game. Justin DeCriscio went 1-for-3 with an RBI single, also drawing a walk in the loss. DeCriscio has a .390 OPS in 23 games with Fort Wayne this season. Zach Evans<\/a> hit a single in the loss, and has hit safely in each of his last four games. Kasen Wells<\/a> reached twice in the loss, and Jake Cunningham<\/a> went 1-for-4 with a single.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The emergence of Jesus A. Castro has been a wonderful story to watch for the Storm faithful, and we very well may have just seen his magnum opus to date. Castro took the mound against a potent Ontario lineup, and overpowered the power lineup. The 18-year old struck out 12 batters, a season-best for any member of the Storm starting rotation. Castro picked up a Single-A daily high of 16 whiffs, and his sinker registered as high as 94-95 mph with devastating movement. Nick Falter<\/a> threw 2.1 innings of relief, allowing no runs. Falter has been an invaluable part of the Storm bullpen, leading the relief corps in innings pitched and ERA. Vicarte Domingo struck out two in two innings of one-run baseball, sealing the win.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Billy, this is Jesus A. Castro.<\/p>\n

The Storm did more than just pitch on Wednesday as they racked up six stolen bases in the win. Ryan Wideman<\/a> hit two singles, scoring one run and swiping two bases. Kerrington Cross had a two-run double in the seventh inning, also pulling off two successful stolen base attempts. Cross also drew two walks, scoring two runs for the Storm. Luke Cantwell had two hits, including an RBI double to give the Storm the lead in the fourth inning. Cantwell is hitting .600 since returning from the injured list. Jorge Quintana<\/a> and Jose Verdugo<\/a> each hit a sacrifice fly, with Quintana reaching base twice in the win. Conner Westenburg<\/a> went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases in the win.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The ACL Padres surpassed their 2025 win total in just their 28th game, winning 11-6 over the ACL White Sox. The Padres scored three runs on wild pitches,\u00a0 and drew three bases-loaded walks. Jack Mathey had one of three run-scoring hits for the Padres, hitting a two-run double. Dawson Willis hit a single in four at-bats, driving in two runs. Isaac Ponce<\/a> hit an RBI single as well, walking twice in the win. Wyatt Hoffman<\/a> picked up his first hit on rehab assignment, reaching base twice. Moises Valdez<\/a> and Colton Vincent<\/a> drew two walks each, both drawing a bases-loaded walk.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jeronimo Palmeros threw one-plus innings in his latest start, allowing three runs. Palmeros did not record a strikeout, walking three. Landry Jurecka<\/a> had his best rehab outing to date, as he threw two innings of two-run baseball, albeit with a season-best five strikeouts. Erick Batista<\/a> threw three innings of one-run baseball, striking out three, and Bernard Jose<\/a> struck out one in a scoreless seventh.\u00a0<\/p>\n

DSL Padres Gold (Won 9-0 vs DSL LAD Mega) (4-2 on the season)<\/p>\n

Yorvin Morla<\/a> \u2013 1-for-3, Two-Run Home Run<\/p>\n

Eddson Martinez<\/a> \u2013 2-for-3, Double, Two RBI, Two Walks<\/p>\n

Carlos Alvarez<\/a> \u2013 4 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K<\/p>\n

The Padres Gold flexed some of their DSL Cup Champion flow in a 9-0 win over the DSL LAD Mega. Eddson Martinez hit a double and drove in two runs from the leadoff spot. Martinez also drew two walks. Joniel Hernandez<\/a> hit a pair of singles and drove in two runs, also crossing home plate once in the victory. Yorvin Morla launched a two-run home run, the first of his young career.\u00a0 Angel Mejia<\/a> scored two runs, and Dayquer Alfonzo<\/a> drew two walks, driving in a run.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Carlos Alvarez flashed some of his top signee talent, striking out three in four hitless innings. Alvarez picked up five of 12 outs on the ground, and this start marked his first career scoreless start. Pretty, pretty, pretty good, if we do say so. Guillermo Romero<\/a> threw a scoreless inning with a strikeout. The no-hitter bid ended in the sixth, as Ariel Dilone<\/a> allowed a base hit in an inning of relief. Dilone did not allow a run, and Daniel Burciaga<\/a> closed out the shutout with a scoreless seventh.\u00a0<\/p>\n
