Abrams also scored twice.<\/p>\n<p>Colt Emerson homered for the second consecutive game for the AL West-leading Mariners, who are 4-5 on a 10-game trip to Detroit, Baltimore and Washington.<\/p>\n<p>With the score tied at 3 in the fifth, James Wood hit a sharp single to third that was originally ruled an error. Garc\u00eda then ripped Luis Castillo\u2019s changeup 408 feet to right-center for his <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Nationals\/status\/2065910213681570255?s=20\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow\">ninth homer this season<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Abrams helped expand the lead in the seventh with <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Nationals\/status\/2065923095689408795?s=20\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow\">an RBI single<\/a> before scoring when reliever Eduard Bazardo\u2019s pickoff attempt trickled off runner Dylan Crews into foul territory. Washington made it 8-3 when <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Nationals\/status\/2065926011691135149?s=20\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow\">Crews scored from first<\/a> on Jos\u00e9 Tena\u2019s single to center.<\/p>\n<p>Nationals starter Cade Cavalli (4-4) allowed three runs and struck out five in five innings.<\/p>\n<p>Washington scored three unearned runs in the first against Castillo (2-6). Garc\u00eda reached on first baseman Josh Naylor\u2019s error, then scored on Abrams\u2019 two-out single.
