The start was Rodriguez\u2019s sixth of the season.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Grayson Rodriguez hits Cedric Mullins with this pitch and exits the game with an injury. He said he has been dealing with back tightness but the injury is not anything too concerning. Rodriguez said it will have the be monitored over the next few days.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNot too concerning right now. I mean obviously I\u2019m concerned because I came out of the game for it, but it\u2019s just going to be something that we\u2019re going to have to manage over the next couple days to be able to get back out there,\u201d Rodriguez said, per <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JeffFletcherOCR\/status\/2066299860060680565?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">SoCal News Group\u2019s Jeff Fletcher<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If he does not miss any time due to the back injury, Rodriguez\u2019s next start is expected to be on June 24 against his former team, the Baltimore Orioles.<\/p>\n<p>Rodriguez Started the Season on the IL<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rodriguez made his Angels debut a month ago on May 17 against the Los Angeles Dodgers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the Angels acquired the right-hander for outfielder Taylor Ward in a trade with the Orioles, Rodriguez started the season on the injured list with shoulder inflammation. He missed all of the 2025 season and had bone spurs removed from his right elbow in August.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rodriguez said exiting Sunday\u2019s game with back tightness was frustrating after his long battle with injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cObviously it\u2019s frustrating anytime you\u2019ve got to come out of the game, especially when you\u2019re on the IL as long as I was here recently,\u201d Rodriguez said, per <a href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/articles\/rodriguez-leaves-back-tightness-five-234050720.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Sporting Tribune<\/a>. \u201cBut, I feel like I\u2019m getting close. I feel like my stuff\u2019s getting a little bit better\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI really wish I could have pitched deep today.
