OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Over the years, huge crowds at the downtown ballpark didn\u2019t always translate to big spending in the Old Market.<\/p>\n
Many baseball fans didn\u2019t stray too far from Baseball Village and the Old Mattress Factory.<\/p>\n
All year, the Old Market is a hub for tourism but this time of the year brings even more visitors to the metro. <\/p>\n
Between the College World Series<\/a>, the National Sheriff\u2019s Convention<\/a> and youth baseball tournaments, nearly half a million visitors made their way to the metro this past weekend. <\/p>\n \u201cThis is a great season, we love CWS being in Omaha and all the conferences going on,\u201d said Table Coffee Co. owner Chris Ford. \u201cSo we are grateful for that.\u201d<\/p>\n In the last month, she has noticed more folks stopping by. A busy weekend full of events only added to those totals. <\/p>\n \u201cWe had our busiest day ever yesterday and we celebrated it was our all time high so we were really grateful,\u201d she said. \u201cI would say every day has been up from about anywhere 20 to 40% of our regular revenue.\u201d<\/p>\n Down the street, Made in Omaha has also seen more visitors coming in for a souvenir to take back home. From custom t-shirts, prints and more. <\/p>\n \u201cWe have been supporting every team that has been walking in through the door,\u201d said co-owner Corey Hall. \u201cJust trying to connect with everybody coming into town.\u201d<\/p>\n
