The Twins\u2019 attendance figures are \u201cslightly lagging behind last year,\u201d which was the lowest-attended season<\/a> in Target Field history, according to Bobby Nightengale of the MINNESOTA STAR TRIBUNE. Through 39 home games, the Twins have reported that they \u201csold exactly 760,000 tickets.\u201d That is a 3.1% decrease from the 784,420 tickets the Twins sold in their first 39 home games last year. Nightengale writes there was \u201can expectation the Twins would have smaller crowds\u201d at the start of the season. Fans were \u201cfurious after last year\u2019s historic trade deadline teardown<\/a>,\u201d where the Twins traded 38% of their major league roster. There were then \u201cno significant roster additions\u201d in the winter, and they entered the season with a $96.5M Opening Day payroll, their lowest in 12 years. The team also played 17 home games in April, when cold weather \u201ctypically hampers crowds.\u201d Target Field attendance \u201cshould tick up during the next homestand,\u201d as the Twins will host the Dodgers from June 22-24, and there is a postgame Ludacris concert after their game against the Rockies on June 26.
