The only player on the team to make two starts this week, Patrick picked up a win in the Brewers’ blowout victory over Philadelphia on Saturday with six innings, five hits, no walks, six strikeouts, and two runs allowed. On Monday, he was good in a much tighter affair, when he went 4 2⁄3 innings, allowed only three hits and two walks, struck out six, and didn’t allow a run in a game Milwaukee won 3-2. In 10 2⁄3 total innings, Patrick allowed two runs (1.69 ERA) on eight hits and struck out 12 while walking just two.

Top Hitting Performance of the Week

It’s been a good week for the Brewers’ offense, and I in particular want to shout out Jackson Chourio, who picked up 10 hits in six games, including three doubles and two homers. But this can’t be anyone other than Christian Yelich. He had to leave Sunday’s game early after getting hit by a pitch, but in four other games this week, Yelich hit a cool .500 (10-for-20) with a double, three homers (including his extra-inning walk-off grand slam on Tuesday), and nine RBIs. Since May 21, his OPS has risen by 140 points.

Injury Notes & Roster Moves

Brandon Woodruff continues to work his way back: he started in Appleton on Wednesday for the Timber Rattlers and pitched an efficient seven innings with six strikeouts, no walks, and only an unearned run allowed. He’s expected to start one more time with Nashville on Tuesday before likely (hopefully) joining Milwaukee’s rotation next weekend or early next week.
Connor Thomas was sent on a rehab assignment to the ACL Brewers. Recall that Thomas was a Brewers’ Rule 5 pick, so once he’s done, they must either add him back to the major league roster or send him back to St. Louis.
Joel Payamps cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Nashville. He’ll need to be added back to the 40-man roster if he is to return to the Brewers this season.
Jose Quintana returned to the rotation on Sunday after making a tune-up start in Appleton on Tuesday. To make room for Quintana on the roster, Tyler Alexander, who allowed five runs in mop-up duty on Saturday, was designated for assignment.

On Deck

Monday: @ Reds (6:10 p.m.)
Tuesday: @ Reds (6:10 p.m.)
Wednesday: @ Reds (11:40 a.m.)
Thursday: Off Day
Friday: vs. Padres (7:10 p.m.)
Saturday: vs. Padres (6:35 p.m.)
Sunday: vs. Padres (12:05 p.m.)

Last Week’s Results Monday: Brewers 3, Red Sox 2 Tuesday: Brewers 5, Red Sox 1 Wednesday: Brewers 6,…

[2401
2229,5,3219,136,3220,181,176,843,59,4514,4906,3527,4280,4,254,749
0":"post-73762","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-milwaukee-brewers","8":"tag-ball","9":"tag-baseball","10":"tag-brew","11":"tag-brewers","12":"tag-crew","13":"tag-front-page","14":"tag-in","15":"tag-milwaukee","16":"tag-milwaukee-brewers","17":"tag-milwaukee-brewers-news","18":"tag-milwaukee-brewers-roster","19":"tag-milwaukee-brewers-scores-standings","20":"tag-milwaukeebrewers","21":"tag-mlb","22":"tag-review","23":"tag-week
["GET
