A former LSU Baseball pitcher has announced his transfer destination for the 2027 college baseball season.<\/p>\n
DJ Primeaux has committed to Nicholls State University, per his social media bios on X and Instagram, after he entered his name into the transfer portal in June.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Coming out of high school, Primeaux was ranked as the No. 1 left-handed pitcher and the No. 7 overall player in the state of Louisiana by Perfect Game. According to LSU Athletics, Primeaux was a first-team All-State and All-District pitcher at Central High School.<\/p>\n
In his senior season at Central High School, Primeaux posted a 10-4 record with a 1.51 ERA and 133 strikeouts in 86 innings, according to LSU Athletics. In his first season in Baton Rouge in 2023, Primeaux redshirted as a true freshman.<\/p>\n
Primeaux started to see action on the mound in 2024, as he appeared in nine games for LSU as a reliever. According to LSU Athletics, Primeaux worked 3.2 innings with no decisions and a 2.45 ERA. He would appear in nine games for the Tigers during the 2024 season.<\/p>\n
In 2025, Primeaux made 22 relief appearances, posting no decisions and a 3.86 ERA in 14.0 innings with eight walks and 13 strikeouts, according to LSU Athletics. In that same season, Primeaux held opponents to a .224 batting average.<\/p>\n
During the 2026 season, Primeaux logged 2.1 innings with four strikeouts and a 9.00 ERA, according to LSU Athletics.<\/p>\n
Primeaux was also named to the 2024 and 2025 SEC Academic Honor Roll during his tenure in Baton Rouge.<\/p>\n
