RAPID CITY, S.D. \u2014 Napoleon Post 300 saw its 11-game win streak come to an end in its first game of the Rapid City Post 22 Firecracker Tournament on Wednesday night, falling to host Post 22 7-4 at Floyd Fitzgerald Stadium.<\/p>\n
Despite 11 hits as a team, the River Bandits (19-6) allowed runs in each of the final four innings in which Rapid City (30-7) batted. Napoleon drew first blood in the top of the second inning Anthony Singer (Fairview) reached via fielder\u2019s choice before two-out hits by Owen Reynolds (Tinora) and Kaden Kreinbrink (Liberty Center) brought him around to score, the latter being a RBI double.<\/p>\n
The Hardhats countered with a three-spot in the bottom of the third to retake a lead they did not relinquish. After building up a 5-1 lead through four frames, Napoleon chipped away in the top of the fifth with singles from Bryan teammates Cade Carlin and Cam Bukowski. With Singer aboard after a two-out single, Reynolds got the Bandits within two runs with a two-run single to left field. Rapid City added a run of their own in the bottom of the frame and also in the sixth to counter a two-out RBI single from Bukowski in the top of the sixth.<\/p>\n
Reynolds, Bukowski, Kreinbrink, Reynolds and Tripp Langenderfer (Archbold) all had two-hit efforts for Napoleon while nine-hole hitter Maddox Baker (Edgerton) drew two walks. Ryne Maag (Ayersville, Glen Oak Community College) started and took the loss for the Bandits, allowing three runs and four hits in 2.1 frames.<\/p>\n
Napoleon will return to action against Omaha Post 1 (2 8-8)on Thursday before taking on ONE6 18U Lambert (11-5), a travel team from Arvada, Colo., and Missoula (Mont.) Mavericks (15-7) in a pair of Friday contests.<\/p>\n
