However, Cora is expected to join the Philadelphia Phillies despite rejecting their offer midseason prior to the hiring of interim Don Mattingly.<\/p>\n<p>Beltr\u00e1n has yet to serve as a major-league manager. He was originally hired by the Mets in that position back in 2019. However, shortly after, the Mets and Beltr\u00e1n made the mutual decision to part ways in light of the Houston Astros sign-stealing scandal.<\/p>\n<p>Beltr\u00e1n recently was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class. He is expected to enter the hall with a Mets\u2019 cap. He slashed .279\/.350\/.486 (.837 OPS) with 435 home runs in his career.
