The Miami Marlins are stepping up to support communities devastated by the recent earthquakes in Venezuela, announcing a comprehensive relief campaign that includes a $100,000 donation and a community-wide effort to collect emergency supplies.<\/p>\n
The organization announced it will contribute $100,000 to Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) to support ongoing emergency response and recovery efforts in the earthquake-stricken region. In addition, Marlins players, coaches, executives, staff members and corporate partners will personally deliver donated relief supplies to GEM headquarters in Doral on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Among those scheduled to participate in the delivery are Marlins infielder Javier Sanoja, a member of Team Venezuela’s 2026 World Baseball Classic championship team, All-Star shortstop Otto Lopez, Marlins manager Clayton McCullough, and President of Business Caroline O’Connor.<\/p>\n
The group will deliver the first collection of donated items to Global Empowerment Mission Headquarters, located at 1850 NW 84th Avenue, Suite 100, in Doral, at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 7.<\/p>\n
The Marlins are also encouraging South Florida fans to join the relief effort during the team’s three-game homestand against the Seattle Mariners from July 7 through July 9.<\/p>\n
Collection bins will be located outside the Home Plate Entrance at loanDepot park, where fans can donate requested relief supplies. Those who bring an eligible donation item will have the opportunity to purchase a specially priced $5 ticket through the team’s We Love Venezuela initiative. The Marlins will match that contribution by donating an additional $5 per qualifying ticket to the We Love Venezuela Foundation.<\/p>\n
The club is further supporting recovery efforts through its popular 50\/50 Raffle, with proceeds from all raffle sales during the three-game series benefiting the We Love Venezuela Foundation.<\/p>\n
The initiative comes as South Florida organizations continue to mobilize resources following the deadly earthquakes in Venezuela, with local governments, first responders, charities and community groups coordinating aid for affected families.<\/p>\n
