DETROIT, Mich. (WJRT) – The Detroit Tigers released their 2027 schedule Thursday afternoon, in the midst of a season that fans hope will include a comeback to reach the playoffs for the third straight season.<\/p>\n

The Tigers will open the 2027 season with the earliest Opening Day ever at Comerica Park. Detroit will host the Chicago White Sox on March 25 to begin the season.<\/p>\n

April will bring homestands against both New York teams, the Mets and the Yankees. The first month of the season will also include a road trip to Los Angeles to face the Dodgers.<\/p>\n

A nine-game West Coast road trip is scheduled for August. The regular season will end with a series on the road against the Minnesota Twins.<\/p>\n

The hope of a new season comes with some pause, though. A management lockout is expected when baseball’s labor contract expires on Dec. 1.<\/p>\n

A similar labor contract negotiation most recently took place in 2022, when a contract agreement wasn’t reached until the middle of March. That delay pushed baseball’s Opening Day back one week.<\/p>\n
