Both throw relatively hard, but Bryans has a low, crossfire release from the left side while Brasch is a righty with an extreme over-the-top release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MLB draft analyst Josh Catlett had high praise for this area of the draft from the Giants: <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nachtsheim and Bryans were arguably my two favorite money saving arms in the entire class too and San Francisco swooped them up today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 Josh Catlett<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If one of these three end up being a backend starter, that\u2019s a win for the Giants. However, as mentioned earlier, all three most likely profile as back-end bullpen options. Either way, the addition of three high-velocity fastball fills an area where the organization lacked and they were able to do so on the cheaper side.<\/p>\n<p>Back-Half Bombs<\/p>\n<p>3B Drew Smith, Oregon \u2013 448th Overall<\/p>\n<p>3B <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/register\/player.fcgi?id=wentz-001dal&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.justbaseball.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-07-18_br\">Dalton Wentz<\/a>, Wake Forest \u2013 478th Overall<\/p>\n<p>3B <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/register\/player.fcgi?id=bell--005mik&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.justbaseball.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-07-18_br\">Mikey Bell<\/a>, Gonzaga \u2013 568th Overall<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first of the three, Drew Smith, is the only surefire signee of the group. The senior infielder out of Oregon has quietly been one the more productive third baseman in college baseball for a few seasons.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not to mention, Oregon\u2019s home ballpark \u2014 PK Park \u2014 is also the home of the Eugene Emeralds, the organization\u2019s High-A affiliate. If the bat translates to pro ball as easily as it should, Smith could find himself in a familiar place sooner rather than later. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The other two third baseman of this bunch are going to be a little more difficult to sign, but if the Giants can save enough money with their picks in rounds four through 10, it\u2019s doable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wentz was a draft-eligible sophomore out of Wake Forest who has been a well above-average bat in both of his college campaigns. As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justbaseball.com\/mlb-draft\/2026-mlb-draft-top-250-prospects\/#entry-180187\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">the 216th ranked prospect on Just Baseball\u2019s board<\/a> getting picked in the 16th round, San Francisco working some magic to make this signing would give them one of the best value picks in the class.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bell, on the other hand, might be equally as difficult to sign for San Francisco. Not only is the 22-year-old the back-to-back West Coast Conference Player of the Year, but he recently committed to the University of Georgia to continue his collegiate career. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Bryans and Brasch are virtually the exact opposite archetype of arms.
