Cincinnati Reds SS Elly De La Cruz produced his fifth career multi-homer game Tuesday, tying Pete Rose for the franchise record for a switch-hitter.<\/p>\n

Every year, for over a decade, it’s the same story with the Reds. Recently, Enquirer reporter Gordon Wittenmyer wrote an article I totally agree with, addressing the Reds being sellers again this year<\/a>. They continue to show their true colors as a non-contending team that cannot hit when needed, with a defense missing pop-ups and outfielders committing unacceptable big-league errors.<\/p>\n

Nick Krall, the Reds’ president of baseball operations, needs to be fired. He has had many years to change the Reds and has failed. As fans, we are tired of the excuses of “yearly rebuilding” and being a small-market team. Krall has made so many mistakes, from this year’s bullpen staff to letting talent leave, such as outfielder Nick Castellanos, who now plays for the Philadelphia Phillies<\/a>. More can be mentioned, but the point is, it is time for a change.<\/p>\n

Some of us are getting too old to wait for ownership to meet its promise that it will bring a winner back to Cincinnati. It is time to put out the money for personnel on and off the field.<\/p>\n
